54-56 High Street Trumpington

Project: 54-56 High Street Trumpington

Description: Conversion of a storage building into a new fully fitted kitchen and set of dining halls. Archaeological investigations, asbestos surveys, a brick study and timber rot surveys were undertaken to aid the design process. The works included demolition of the internal structure, new partitions & ceilings, new finishes, internal doors, external windows and doors, re-roofing and a full mechanical and electrical installation.

92a Mill Road

Description: The project at 92A Mill Road, Cambridge involved the demolition, structural redevelopment, and refurbishment of an existing building. The scope of work included site preparation, demolition of existing structures, excavation, and foundation construction, followed by the erection of new sub-structures and superstructures. The project also encompassed masonry, roofing, internal and external partitions, mechanical and electrical installations, and high-quality finishes.

Key aspects of the project included:

-Demolition & Site Preparation – Existing internal fit-out was removed, asbestos was safely handled, and foundation excavation was carried out.

-Structural Works – New foundations were constructed, reinforced concrete structures were installed, steel framing was erected, and roof modifications were completed.

-Mechanical & Electrical Installations – A new drainage system, HVAC, lighting, and fire safety systems were installed.

-Internal & External Finishes – New windows, doors, flooring, wall finishes, and decorative elements were added.

-Compliance & Safety – All work adhered to Building Control, Party Wall regulations, and fire safety requirements.

The project successfully modernised and enhanced the property while ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and construction standards.

Downing College

Description: The project involved the refurbishment of the library toilets at Downing College to modernise and upgrade the facilities while ensuring compliance with contemporary building standards.

Key works included:

-Preliminaries & Site Management – Coordination, health & safety measures, and protection of existing areas.

-Alterations & Structural Modifications – Removal and modification of walls, doors, and existing finishes to accommodate the new design.

-Finishes & Fixtures – Installation of new flooring, wall finishes, painting, and upgraded sanitary fixtures.

-Mechanical & Electrical Works – Plumbing upgrades, electrical installations, lighting enhancements, and ventilation improvements.

The project successfully improved the aesthetics, functionality, and efficiency of the library’s restroom facilities while adhering to Downing College’s quality and design standards.

F&G Staircase – Christ College

Description: The Christ’s Passage Refurbishment Project involved the restoration and modernisation of a historic property with restricted access in a high-traffic pedestrian area. The works focused on improving structural integrity, upgrading internal spaces, and ensuring compliance with contemporary safety and building standards.

Key aspects of the project included:

-Site Setup & Logistics – Strict site management due to central location, ensuring unobstructed pedestrian access and controlled material deliveries.

-Demolition & Asbestos Removal – Safe removal of asbestos-containing materials and demolition of outdated structures.

-Structural Works – Repairs to masonry, installation of new beams and lintels, and reinforcement of existing foundations.

-Roofing & Leadwork – Full replacement of the Collyweston slate roof, new leadwork, and parapet gutter repairs.

-Scaffolding & Safety Measures – Erection of full scaffolding with temporary roofing and safety barriers.

-Mechanical & Electrical Installations – Upgrades to drainage, ventilation, heating, electrical, and fire alarm systems.

Interior Fit-Out – New partitions, flooring, ceilings, joinery, sanitaryware, and kitchen installations.

-Decorations & Finishes – Full redecoration, timber restoration, and installation of high-quality fixtures and fittings.

The project successfully enhanced the building’s functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal while preserving its historic character.

Description:
Description: the existing offices were fully stripped and re-fitted to Cat A and B standards for an incoming tenant. The works included demolition, decorations & wall finishes, floor finishes, partitions and Rockfon ceilings, Granada glazing, internal doors and a mechanical & electrical installation including air conditioning and ventilation systems.

Wordsworth Grove

Description: The project at 2 Wordsworth Grove involved the refurbishment and improvement of an existing property.

The scope of work included:

-Site Preparation & Safety – Verification of site dimensions, asbestos removal, and provision of necessary site protection.

-Structural & Internal Works – Repairs and modifications to floors, walls, and ceilings.

-Mechanical & Electrical Upgrades – Updates to plumbing, heating, and electrical systems.

-Finishes & Fixtures – Installation of new flooring, joinery, and redecorations.

-Additional Works – Further enhancements as per client requests.

The project focused on ensuring modernised, high-quality finishes while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Y Stairs Christs College

Client: Wayne Bell

Contract Period: 6 weeks

Description: The refurbishment of the Y Building at Christ’s College, Cambridge, involved upgrading the shower and WC facilities on three floors around the north staircase. The project preserved the historic Grade II-listed structure while modernising bathroom amenities. Work commenced in July 2019 and was completed by September 2019. Key considerations included safety, minimising disruption, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Trinity Hall F Stairs

Description: The works included general alterations and refurbishment throughout; the works included new gyps and shower room fit out, with provision of new electrical and heating services. The works also included some minor internal alterations to the structure, including conservation and repair works to the external elevations and roof.
